More words need to be said about PTSD. I have heard people be a little poo poo on PTSD and be a little negative emotions as if they make a person weak or they are too sensitive. I think this is a terrible thing that is rampant in the culture in the United States.
It teaches us to undermine ourselves. It teaches us we do not matter. It teaches us to not trust our heart.
There is a time to let go. A time to not stay in the story over and over of being a victim.
But that is not what I speak of. Being present to our own suffering is very hard. Being a present to the suffering of others is also very hard. Maybe the most important thing we do is to become comfortable with suffering. Comfortable being present to what is. Transformation happens through witness. We are naturally healing. I am sure of this. But we need to witness both each other and ourselves in order to heal. And when I say others it is not only the living who need to be witnessed. Justice of writing wrongs that have happened is a form of bearing witness.
