Painting Sampler and Open Studio, virtual

Come experience the healing power of painting as meditation at this intuitive painting sampler class. Two hours where we will explore water and color on the canvas, discuss acrylic paints and various techniques, and most importantly lay some paint on the canvas! Supplies can be provided for an extra fee. No art experience necessary. Thursdays twice month.

Recommended Supplies:

• acrylic paints
  • Americana craft paints
  • Dick Blick student grade
  • Amsterdam student grade
  • BASIC student grade is okay
• two canvases, 18 x 24 or larger
  • One will be a place to experiment with techniques
• brushes: filbert or flat and rounds; nice to have larger ones in both synthetic and boar bristle (bristle holds paint better)
  • large: variety of synthetic and bristle, cheap chip brushes (hardware store), flats and filberts and rounds
  • 1-2 small round and flats, synthetic
• paper plate palette
• posca markers: white and black, plus additional colors if you wish
• spray bottle
