In Color of Woman, we are moving using a compass to go on a quest for one’s true self. Each direction is an approach, a reflection, a territory to discover, and part of that territory is bringing forth through painting on large convases (at least 30″ x 40″). I have made it through two so far, neither complete yet. And a strange thing occurs as I engage in this process of finding oneself through color, time, and space!
Reflecting on these and wondering about free will and resistance and preconceptions. I repeatedly have gone through this cycle with my legend and my muse of fear, recoiling, loving and back to recoiling. This expectation of who they are not being met, releasing control, allowing/yielding, and then feeling connected and good once again. How strange it is to go through this dance with oneself!
