This is a more philosophical post but gets at something I try to do with jillyhop and my art — create a break from the fear and darkness facebook and the media are trying to put into us.Why I make and share art:
What if the most valuable asset from humanity is our imagination? What if Jesus came to tell us we are all Gods, that we create all the time? What if our imagination is literally a factory that collectively creates the world we live in?
What if there is a non-incarnate parasitic force (sentient/conscious or not) who wants to keep humanity disempowered in a state of conflict and fear but is completely powerless except to try to infiltrate the minds of humans. Where it tries to influence humans’ imagination, attempting to sow seeds of fear and in turn stirring the human heart to state of fear and anger and distrust. And humanity, unaware of its tremendous power, mindlessly allows their minds to drink in lies and fear, which in turn affects what is imagined and hence what we create.
This isn’t about rainbows and la la goodness. It’s about taking responsibility for what we create and what we expose our minds to, being present with what is including the suffering in our selves and others. Take away anything that isn’t true. And that’s what we need to be left with so we can create a world we can be proud of. We are strong enough to do this. We are powerful.
